Athlete Evaluation

The purpose of the evaluation is to determine current athletic ability and show growth and progress toward athletic performance. In order to ensure accuracy, Outer Limits utilizes specialized electronic equipment for evaluating an athlete. The athlete’s ability can be measured in various areas including: strength, explosiveness, plyometric strength, sprinting speed, ground contact time, bat speed, and vertical jump. Laser timing devices are used for sprints while other electronic devices are used to determine bat speed, vertical jump, and explosiveness. Additional attributes are also assessed during the evaluation, such as: mobility, flexibility, movement mechanics, sprinting technique, muscular imbalances, hamstring/quadricep ratio, etc. If desired, photos are taken of the athlete’s physique to compare results before and after training.
