Programs

  • Athlete Evaluation

The purpose of the evaluation is to determine current athletic ability and show growth and progress toward athletic performance. In order to ensure accuracy, Outer Limits utilizes specialized electronic equipment for evaluating an athlete. The athlete’s ability can be measured in various areas including: strength, explosiveness, plyometric strength, sprinting speed, ground contact time, bat speed, and vertical jump. Laser timing devices are used for sprints while other electronic devices are used to determine bat speed, vertical jump, and explosiveness. Additional attributes are also assessed during the evaluation, such as: mobility, flexibility, movement mechanics, sprinting technique, muscular imbalances, hamstring/quadricep ratio, etc. If desired, photos are taken of the athlete’s physique to compare results before and after training.

  • Customized Program Design

outer_limits_programs1Using the evaluation data, a customized Outer Limits multi-phase training program is designed to meet the specific athlete’s needs. One of the main goals of the program is to improve upon weaknesses, but more importantly, to amplify and develop strengths. Program design is done using periodization and scientifically proven training techniques to achieve maximum results and excel the individual performance of the athlete.

  • Environment & Mindset

We believe that having the proper mindset is a key component toward achieving optimal results. At the Outer Limits Indoor Sports facility athletes are immersed in a motivational, positive environment conducive to achieving athletic performance goals through the use of specialized training and professional equipment. Outer Limits maintains a high standard of state-of-the-art training equipment to ensure athletes achieve optimal results.

  • Bigger, Stronger, Faster = The Ultimate Athlete

This is where Outer Limits trade secrets come into play. Outer Limits uses a proprietary blend of plyometrics, strength training, time under tension (TUT) training, neuromuscular efficiency, and rate-of-force development training, etc. These components are implemented in a unique sequence, creating a customized formula to construct the ultimate athlete.

A common myth is that bigger = slower. We have proven that this is untrue. When the training program is designed using periodization, balanced, and executed correctly, speed and performance will most definitely improve. At Outer Limits athletes generally add an average of 15-20 pounds of muscle while simultaneously reducing body fat and gaining strength, explosiveness, and speed.

  • Speed / Vertical Jump

Many believe that speed is not trainable and is simply a genetic gift. With so many programs, speed clinics/ camps, products and gimmicks promising instant speed/vertical jump results, it’s easy for an athlete to become misguided and misinformed. These false advertisements and gimmicks offer empty promises and often neglect solid training principles. The magnitude of an athlete’s speed/vertical jump is primarily dependent upon force-per-stride, intermuscular coordination, and energy system efficiency. Outer Limits uses a no-nonsense, scientific approach, utilizing solid training principles in a unique formula to develop strength, rate-of-force, reactive force, energy system output, and mobility, which ultimately evolve speed, quickness, agility, and vertical jump improvements that go beyond.

  • Measuring Progress & Results

To eliminate human error, the same specialized electronic equipment mentioned above is used to reevaluate the athlete in order to determine that progress has been made, strengths further developed, and athletic goals achieved. If you so choose, before and after photos may be used to compare the physical transformation in the athlete’s physique.

  • GO Beyond

Outer Limits trains middle school, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes in a variety of sports. Because of our focus on quality, a select number of athletes are accepted into the Outer Limits program. Each potential client is invited to schedule a one-on-one interviewing/screening process, to discuss your goals, package/pricing options, answer your questions, etc. Sessions are by appointment and are sold in packages. There are no initiation fees or monthly membership fees. Just bring motivation and determination and leave the rest to the Outer Limits Training Team.
